Big Heart Brother is dedicated to empowering youth and uplifting communities through mentorship, skill-building, and compassionate leadership. Inspired by the vision of founder Herbert Lee Pogue, Jr., the organization blends community respect, exploration of the barbering craft, and authentic mentorship to help young people build confidence, discipline, and purpose throughout life. Through various scholarship and fundraising initiatives, Big Heart Brother ensures that youth have access to meaningful career pathways and personal growth opportunities.
As its training partner, Featuring You Barber Academy has spent nearly four years preparing aspiring barbers to become licensed professionals. Under the leadership of Mr. Pouge’s and his staff, the Academy has become a trusted community institution, where mastery of the craft is taught alongside character, respect, and service. The Academy embraces the inspiring slogan, “if you learn something, you earn something”

For many aspiring professionals in Indian Land, the cost of quality education and licensing is the only barrier standing between them and financial independence. Big Heart Brother was created to bridge that gap. We believe that by providing the tools, tuition, and mentorship needed to become a Licensed Barber, we aren't just teaching a trade—we are building a community.
